Electronic Engineer

My name is José Roberto Casen, I am currently working in the automotive industry as Supplier Quality Engineer. I'm Electronic Engineer graduated at the Tucuman National University of Argentina, and I´ve been working a little bit more than 25 years in different positions in production, quality, sourcing, costs and development.

Working with planning and production flows, reducing waste in each step, helping to reach higher levels of quality, buying components with the right quality at the right price, selecting the best suppliers, negotiating prices and working together with other areas gave me a good understanding on how to make things better.

To reach higher levels of effectivity, quality and costs is a never ending tasks, things can be good but they can always be better, and this is what keeps an engineer alive. All this time in these different areas, and the opportunity to work with top level companies from all over the world gave me a lot of experience that I'm very proud of and want to continue developing.

EXPERIENCE

Supplier Quality Engineer, Electromobility

The big transformation of the automotive industry come with a lot of new challenges in all areas. New products, new technologies, new suppliers and world that is changing very fast requires more than ever a very good planning, and making sure that nothings is left unattended from the quatlity point of view. New regulations, new standards, and the responsability to make the change possible with the minimal environmental impact are part of my daily tasks.

Cost Management

From early stage in a project and to the end of the lyfe time of a product, working whit Cost in a fact-based way is crucial to take right decisions. Target price, should cost, payoff calculation, are all input for project planning, follow up and important to have during the negotiation process as a way of bringing transparency to the business.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance means getting things right according to clearly defined specifications. Working with deviations in an effective way, taking the necessary corrective actions to solve problems, taking short and long term actions demands a structured way of working without leaving things uncontrolled.

Production Engineer

Machining & Assembly. Stock management, production planning and efficiency, control, productivity improvements and elimination of waste are important things that can be done working with the right method, measuring the advance and the results. These are very important factors to stay competitive on the market.

System Development

Planning the system, it's entities and connections, describing the interaction between them, making maps to clearly understand the system as a whole, will allow us to estimate the time and resources needed to develop it, to write clear code and to have a system that it's easy to mantain.

  • Supplier Quality Engineer, Electromobility (current position) Quality assurance of HV Batteries, chargers, EMD electric drivers, DC/DC and other HV components
  • Senior Cost Engineer Mainly working with electronic and electromobility, my role is to support the organization with cost related questions in the whole lyfe of products, from very early phases and as long as they are in use.
  • Cost Engineering Manager In this function I was responsible of a group of CE especialized in electronics parts.
  • Cost Engineer Cost estimation and part prices calculations. Investment calculations and payoffs. Price negotiation with suppliers
  • Supplier Quality Assurance Deviations handling. Corrective actions plans. Short term and long term actions to assure the right product quality
  • Production Engineer Production planing, layout, capacity, investment and labour planing to reach high level of pruductivity. Elimination of wastes in the production flow.
  • System developer – programmer Production systems developer for the automotive industry.
